UNIVERSITY PARK, Ill. – Sincere Ramsahai and Josh Redic scored 13 points apiece, but 25 turnovers plagued the Roosevelt men's basketball team in an 82-63 road loss at Governors State on Wednesday night.
Matt Myers added 12 points, six boards and two blocks, while Colton Haviland (nine points) and Lucas Jordan (eight points, six rebounds, three assists) joined Ramsahai as big bench contributors on this evening for the Lakers (1-9, 1-4 CCAC).
DeAndrey Robinson led all players with 16 points and eight rebounds for the Jaguars (6-3, 3-2 CCAC).
Governors State broke open a five-point game early in the second half with a 17-1 burst, aided by six Roosevelt giveaways during that six-minute span.
The young Lakers, without leading scorer Bennett Fuzak, could get no closer than 14 the rest of the way after digging a big hole due to the miscues.
"Turnovers continue to be our top issue and that's how game escaped us in second half," Roosevelt head coach Joe Griffin said. "Physically they were bigger and faster, and we had some weird lineups in there. Potentially we still have a high ceiling, but we have to improve faster."
