Men's Basketball Opens CCAC Tournament At Goodman Center Against Indiana South Bend

CHICAGO - Sunday evening was when the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference officially unveiled the 2014 CCAC Men's Basketball Tournament bracket, and as expected Roosevelt will host a postseason game at the Lillian and Larry Goodman Center for the second consecutive season when the Lakers welcome Indiana University South Bend back to the Patti Eylar and Charles Gardner Court on Monday, Feb. 24.

The opening-round game between the Lakers (14-15) and the Titans (12-17) tips at 7 p.m.

Roosevelt earned its bid into the CCAC Tournament by way of finishing fourth in the North Division, while IUSB gained entrance into the tourney as a wild card from the South Division.

The game is a rematch of the Jan. 22 regular-season meeting between the two sides, a 68-67 decision for the Titans as a result of a buzzer-beating bucket from Titan guard Jason Jordan. Elliott Vaughn scored a career-best 18 for the Lakers, who were without the now-healthy Jeremiah Jackson in that game.

Roosevelt is seeking its first-ever postseason win in the program's modern four-year history.

Tickets to the game are $5 for the general public. Roosevelt students, faculty and staff, Columbia College students, faculty and staff and University Center residents are admitted free by showing their ID card from one of those institutions. Children ages 12 and under are also admitted to the game free when accompanied by an adult.
