WATERLOO, Iowa – Roosevelt finished in a tie for sixth place in a competitive field at the Upper Iowa Spring Invite hosted at Sunnyside Country Club in Waterloo, Iowa over the weekend.
The Lakers started the tournament strong on Saturday, soaring into fourth place on a challenging day on the course. The team was led on the opening day by
Marc Waller and
Matthew Webb, who shot matching 77s to put themselves in the top-15. Waller made three birdies in the round while Webb carded two to lead the Lakers by two shots over
Pierre Heylen, who carded seven bogeys and 11 pars to shoot 79.
Sunday was a much better day for all teams and Roosevelt improved its team total by three shots on the second day. Heylen finished in 19
th place overall after shooting a 76 on Sunday and
Thomas Peluchon rebounded from a tough Saturday to shoot 77. Waller and Webb shot identical 79s on Sunday to finish in a tie for 27
th.
