INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. –
Thomas Peluchon's strong second round helped lift Roosevelt to a fifth-place finish Saturday at the Purgatory Invitational hosted by Taylor at Purgatory Golf Club in Indianapolis.
The sophomore from France shot a 1-under 71 in the final round Saturday to become one of only two players to shoot even par or better in the event. Peluchon climbed from 20
th place to eighth place with his steady round that began with two birdies in the first five holes. He bogeyed the eighth and ninth holes, but bounced back with a birdie on the par-3 17
th to finish his 71.
Pierre Heylen led the Lakers after Friday's first round with a 78 then fell into a tie for 16
th place in the second round.
Marc Waller and
Matthew Webb tied for 26
th place with matching 18 overs.
Justin Rodriguez made three birdies on Saturday to improve his score by nine shots in the second round and finish in 35
th.
