Isgro Named All-GLIAC Honorable Mention

BAY CITY, Mich. – Alessia Isgro was named an All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honorable mention selection, the league announced Friday.

The graduate student from Torregrotta, Italy was one of Roosevelt's most consistent attackers this season. She led the Lakers with 212 kills, an average of 2.41 per set, and was slightly better in conference action with 2.65 kills per set against GLIAC foes. She finished with a team-best .184 hitting percentage in 16 conference matches and a .141 overall hitting percentage.

Isgro had nine matches with double-digit kills this year, turning up the heat in October and November as the season came to a close. She had at least 10 kills in six of Roosevelt's final eight matches of the season, which included a stretch in which she hit above .240 in four consecutive matches.

She topped out at a career-best 15 kills on Oct. 24 when Roosevelt rallied to beat Saginaw Valley State at the Goodman Center. She had five kills in the decisive fifth set to finish with the most kills anyone had in a match this year for the Lakers.
