BIG RAPIDS, Mich. – Roosevelt fell in straight set at No. 20 Ferris State on Friday in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference matchup.

The Lakers (2-25, 1-14 GLIAC) were led by Vivienne Merchant's six kills and four kills from Alessia Isgro in the loss. Cydney Martinez had a team-best 10 digs, followed closely by Isgro with nine, and Zoe Hutchinson dished out eight assists.

Ferris State won the first seven points of the opening set and Roosevelt could not fight closer than five points in a 25-11 setback. The Bulldogs only won the first two points of the second set, but quickly extended their lead en route to a 25-14 win in the second set. The Lakers made things interesting in the third set when they got to within 15-12 after a successful challenge. However, Ferris State pulled away for a 25-16 win in the final set.
