Box Score CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University women's basketball team celebrated "Senior Night" on Wednesday, February 16 prior to its CCAC Conference game versus 18th ranked St. Xavier University, honoring senior Nicole Poole before falling to the Cougars 103-73 at the Goodman Center. The loss dropped the Lakers conference record to 7-14 and their overall record to 8-17 on the year.
The Lakers led 7-4 early in the game following two free throws from Gabrielle Beggs, a jumper by Shawna Conger, and a three-pointer from Amelia McNutt. However, the Cougars scored the next nine points to take a 13-7 lead and increased that margin to 23-8 with 2:37 to go in the opening quarter.
St. Xavier closed out the first quarter up 28-15 and kept building on that lead throughout the game, leading 48-28 at the half and holding a margin as large as 32 points before winning 103-73.
