Box Score DEERFIELD, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team lost to Trinity International University in straight sets on Tuesday, October 5 at Van Dixhorn Arena to remain winless in CCAC Conference play. The Lakers are now 0-7 in the CCAC and 2-13 overall this season.
The opening set was a highly competitive affair before the Trojans opened up a six-point lead on three occasions, including at 24-18 for set point. However, the Lakers fought off set point five times to pull to within 24-23, but Trinity International scored the next point to win 25-23 to take a 1-0 match lead.
Roosevelt jumped out to a 5-2 advantage to begin the second set, but Trinity International scored the next four points to lead 6-2 and the two teams were tied at 14-14 later in the stanza. The Trojans scored the next two points and led the rest of the way to win 25-19 and lead the match by two sets.
The Lakers fell behind early in the third set and were never able to recover with the Trojans building a ten-point lead, eventually winning 25-18 to sweep the conference match.
