Box Score CHICAGO – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team lost to Trinity Christian College in straight sets on Tuesday, October 19 in a CCAC Conference match at the Goodman Center. The loss drops the Lakers conference record to 0-12 and their overall record to 3-20 for the season.
The Lakers took a 3-1 lead early in the opening set, but then fell behind the Trolls and trailed 7-6 before the visitors went on an 8-0 run to take control of the set and lead 14-6. Roosevelt was unable to overcome the deficit and dropped the first set 25-14.
Trinity Christian carried the momentum into the second set, opening a 7-2 margin. However, Roosevelt cut the lead down to three points on several occasions, but the Trolls once again put together a big run, scoring nine consecutive points to lead 21-9 and win the set 25-14 to take a 2-0 match lead.
The Trolls jumped out to a 3-0 lead to begin the third set, but the Lakers came back to pull within a point at 3-2 and 4-3. Trinity Christian one again pulled away from the Lakers with yet another big run, this time scoring seven straight points to lead 14-4 and went on to win 25-11 to sweep the conference match.
