Box Score SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The Roosevelt University women's volleyball team hit the road for a CCAC Conference match, losing to Indiana University South Bend in straight sets on Tuesday, October 12. The loss dropped the Lakers conference record to 0-9 and their overall record to 3-17 on the year.
The Lakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the opening set and led 4-3 early on, but the Titans scored 10 straight points to take a 13-4 advantage and went on to win the set 25-14.
In the second set, the Titans opened with three straight points, but the Lakers came back to take a 5-4 lead on three consecutive kills by Viktoria Marysheva. The two teams were deadlocked at 10-10 before Roosevelt scored the next three points to lead 13-10 and led 17-13 later in the stanza. However, the Titans rallied to tie the set at 19-19 and scored the final six points to win 25-19 to take a 2-0 match lead.
The third set was a competitive affair with the two teams exchanging the lead throughout and were even at 19-19 late in the set. IUSB scored the next three points to take a 22-19 lead, but RU came back to tie things up at 24-24. Unfortunately, the Titans scored the final two points to win the set and the match in straight sets.
