Volleyball Falls At Judson

ELGIN, Ill. - The Roosevelt volleyball team had set point in the second frame of its CCAC road match on Judson on Tuesday night, but the Lakers couldn't close out the stanza and fell to the Eagles by a final of 25-19, 26-24, 25-14.

Makenzie Cooper had nine kills while Mackenzie Bell had six kills, while Mallory Nickelson had 23 assists for the Lakers (6-12, 1-5 CCAC).

Two different Eagles had 10 kills to pace the hosts (13-6, 3-3 CCAC).

Roosevelt had a tough night on the attack, hitting .010 for the match.

Despite their hitting woes, the Lakers led set two 24-22 after a kill by Bell and stood a point away from knotting the match at 1-1. However, the Eagles rattled off four consecutive points, and Roosevelt couldn't recover.

The Lakers get a few days off before traveling to Saint Xavier next Tuesday, Oct. 1.
