Volleyball Falls In Four At Indiana Northwest

Box Score

GARY, Ind. - The Roosevelt volleyball won the opening set of its CCAC road match at Indiana Northwest, but the RedHawks captured the next three frames to upend the Lakers, 20-25, 25-23-, 25-19, 25-14, at the Savannah Center on Thursday night.

Makenzie Cooper led all players with 17 kills and 10 digs, while Amy Stumpf added 12 kills for Roosevelt (5-9, 1-2 CCAC).

Mallory Nickelson had 21 assists and 11 digs, and Paula Gross contributed 15 digs.

Bella Kuechenberg led IUN (4-1, 3-0 CCAC) with 15 kills to pace four players in double-digit kills.

After taking the opening frame, Roosevelt engaged with a closely-contested second set that barely went the way of the hosts.

However, Indiana Northwest used that win to up its attack in the next two sets as Roosevelt's error count reduced its efficiency during that same span to cost the Lakers the match.

Roosevelt will look to rebound on Saturday at home against perennial CCAC power Trinity Christian at 1 p.m. inside the Goodman Center.
