BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Paige Gallimore led all scorers with a career-high 36 points, and the Roosevelt women's basketball team took 14th-ranked Olivet Nazarene to overtime on the Tigers' home court before falling 109-100 at McHie Arena on Saturday.
Chelsey Crippen added another double-double effort with 13 points and a career-high 14 rebounds, while Jasmine Albert added 16 points and Becca Bergman tallied 11 for the Lakers (14-12, 7-9 CCAC).
Jess Learned led the Tigers (18-7, 15-1 CCAC) with 24 points.
The Lakers were on fire early, shooting over 71 percent in the first quarter and 60 percent in the second.
Gallimore set the tone with close-range damage and a trio of treys to combat the Tigerball press.
Olivet took advantage of the press and turned Roosevelt's 23 turnovers into 33 points, and the Tigers shot 50 percent in the fourth to close the gap.
ONU led late, but the Lakers tied the game at the foul line thanks to Bergman, and Albert made a go-ahead bucket with 47 seconds left in regulation before Learned tied the game with 19 ticks on the clock to get it to OT.
Roosevelt ran out of gas in the late stages of a close extra session, and the Tigers pulled away.
The Lakers return home this Wednesday to host fourth-ranked Saint Xavier at 5:30 p.m. inside the Goodman Center.
