DAVENPORT, Iowa – Despite a strong all-around effort from Jasmine Albert and double-digit scoring from Lindzy Cox, the Roosevelt women's basketball team suffered through a tough shooting performance in a 61-44 road loss at St. Ambrose on Saturday.
Albert scored a team-high 12 points to go with nine rebounds and eight steals for the Lakers (1-5, 0-2 CCAC), who also featured Cox scoring 11 points.
Candace Finnin led all scorers with 17 points for the Bees (4-3, 1-1 CCAC).
Roosevelt finished the game shooting just 26 percent (15-for-58) from the floor and a difficult 2-for-21 from downtown.
The Lakers stayed in the game with defense, causing 26 SAU turnovers, but the Bees were able to take advantage of Roosevelt's shooting woes to take the lead in the second, grow their own advantage in the third and then pull away during an offensive-oriented fourth for both teams.
Roosevelt returns home to host 18th-ranked Olivet Nazarene at the Goodman Center on Tuesday, Nov. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
