Whiting, Ind. - After winning the first two sets in its opening match at the Crimson Wave Invite, the Roosevelt volleyball team seem poised to get back into the win column against William Penn. The Lady Statesmen battled back, though, and eventually broke the Lakers' hearts in five sets, 22-25, 25-27, 25-19, 25-15, 15-9. Roosevelt followed that with a 25-9, 25-26, 25-17 setback to Aquinas to finish the first day of play 0-2 at the Crimson Wave Invite.
The Lakers (3-29) will be back in action on Saturday with two more matches. Roosevelt opens the day with an 11:00 a.m. match versus Concordia, before squaring off with Indiana South Bend at 1:00 p.m. to conclude action in the two-day invite.
