ROOSEVELT WEEK AHEAD: February 24-March 1

CHICAGO – Here's a look at the week ahead in Roosevelt Athletics.

Women's Basketball
After clinching a spot in the GLIAC Tournament this past week, the Roosevelt women's basketball team will wrap up the regular season with a pair of games on the road this week. The Lakers (8-17, 7-11 GLIAC) first make the trip up to Marquette, Mich. for a matchup with No. 22 Northern Michigan (22-6, 13-5 GLIAC) on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. The Wildcats squeaked out a narrow 83-82 win over Roosevelt back on Dec. 6 after the Lakers' furious fourth-quarter rally coming up just short at the Goodman Center. On Saturday, Roosevelt will head to Houghton, Mich. for the regular-season finale against Michigan Tech (15-11, 9-9 GLIAC) at 11 a.m. The Huskies took the first matchup by a score of 64-48, limiting Roosevelt to just 29.1 percent shooting from the floor.

Men's Basketball
The Roosevelt men's basketball team concludes its season this week by facing the two co-leaders of the GLIAC. The Lakers (4-21, 3-15 GLIAC) begin the week against No. 18 Northern Michigan on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. They fell to the Wildcats (23-5, 14-4 GLIAC) in the first matchup by a score of 85-64, with Northern Michigan shooting 50.8 percent from the floor and 50 percent (16 for 32) from 3-point range. On Saturday, Roosevelt concludes the 2025-26 campaign against No. 16 Michigan Tech (23-5, 14-4 GLIAC). The Huskies beat the Lakers in the conference opener for both teams by a score of 73-55 back on Dec. 4.

Baseball
The Roosevelt baseball team (1-4) will try to rebound from a tough weekend against Quincy as it kicks off its annual spring break trip to Florida on Sunday. The Lakers will face Northwood (1-6) at 12:15 p.m. before tackling unbeaten Rockhurst (7-0) at 3:30 pm in Davenport, Fla.

Softball
The Roosevelt softball team will head to Springfield to take on the University of Illinois Springfield in a Wednesday doubleheader, with the first game scheduled for a noon start. The Lakers (5-3) and Prairie Stars (10-4) opened the season against each other with the teams splitting a doubleheader in Rosemont.

Track and Field
The men's and women's track teams will head to Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, Mich. to participate in the GLIAC Indoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday and Sunday.

Tennis
The men's (3-4) and women's (5-2) tennis teams have a pair of road contests this week, with the first coming at the University of Illinois Springfield on Saturday. The Lakers' tennis programs will then take on Quincy on Sunday to wrap up the week.
