HOLLAND, Mich. – Juan Caicedo was perfect in singles play this past weekend to highlight Roosevelt's three matches.

The freshman began the week Friday with a tight straight-sets win over Rose-Hulman at the top singles spot then rallied from dropping the first set Saturday to pull out a three-set win over Hope. The crowning achievement came Sunday when Caicedo controlled the match with a 6-4, 6-1 over the top player at UIC to score the only point for Roosevelt.

Caicedo and Justus Peters teamed up to win two of their three doubles matches with both wins being Roosevelt's only wins in doubles in the match. Peters was 2-1 in singles play at the No. 4 spot, dropping a tough three-setter to UIC after both players won a set 6-4.

Both the men and women started the weekend with a pair of matches on the campus of Hope College before returning to Chicago to face UIC at XS Tennis. The Lakers swept past Rose-Hulman on Friday with the women shutting out the Fighting Engineers 7-0 while the men won 5-2. After Roosevelt's men dropped the doubles point to Rose-Hulman, it won five of six singles matches and lost the other one in three sets.

On Saturday, the Lakers faced off against the hosts with the men again winning 5-2, but the women dropped their match 5-2. Both of the Lakers' teams dropped 6-1 decisions to UIC on Sunday to close out the weekend.
