BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – Roosevelt opened its cross country season Friday evening at Olivet Nazarene in the Midwest Classic held in Bourbonnais.

Neither the men nor women had enough runners to earn an official team score, but the women still started the season strong. Cristin Moreno paced the Lakers with a 47^th-place finish in 26:52 over the six-kilometer course. Gloria Romero returned from injury to run 27:29 for 55^th place, slightly ahead of Lisset Munoz in 61^st with a time of 27:53. Shelsee Isassi ran a personal best of 29:17 to round out the group in 74^th place.
