Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Roosevelt opened up Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Friday and Saturday with matches at Grand Valley State and Davenport.

The Lakers were shut out on Friday at Grand Valley State with the men and women both falling 7-0 in their GLIAC debuts. On the women's side, Teodora Petrica took the opening set off her opponent at No. 1 singles before dropping the match in three sets. Lakshay Vivek also won the opening set of his match at No. 2 singles before falling in three sets.

Juan Pablo Espinosa secured a straight-sets win for Roosevelt's only point Saturday against Davenport with a 6-2, 7-6 victory. The women fell 7-0 to the Panthers, but the team of Malena Moya and Varvara Ogorodnikova won 6-1 at No. 3 doubles to help the Lakers nearly take the doubles point in the match.
