| Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Demille Scarabello secured match point for Roosevelt to help the Lakers take down Lewis 4-3 in a dual match Sunday in Romeoville.

The sophomore from Toronto was involved in both of the Lakers' on-court wins against the Flyers, winning both at No. 2 doubles and No. 4 singles. Lewis did not have a player for No. 5 or No. 6 singles, but the Flyers and Lakers battled at the other positions. In doubles action, Scarabello and Lakshay Vivek edged out the Lewis duo 7-6 to give the Lakers the 3-0 edge heading into singles play.

Scarabello then finished off a 6-3, 6-3 win to help the Roosevelt men split their weekend of matches. On Saturday, the Lakers dropped a 6-1 decision to the defending Division III national champions, University of Chicago, with Vivek recording the only point for Roosevelt. However, Justus Peters and Enzo Soares did team up for a 6-4 win at No. 2 doubles, though it was not enough to win the doubles point.

The Roosevelt women were also in action Sunday against Lewis, dropping a heartbreaking 5-2 match to the Flyers that was much closer than the score indicates. Although the Flyers easily won the doubles point, a default at No. 6 singles quickly tied the match at 1. Three of the other five singles matches needed a third-set supertiebreaker and only Varvara Ogorodnikova was able to emerge victorious.

Teodora Petrica split her first two sets at No. 1 singles with each side winning 7-5 then fought in an epic third set before falling 13-11. Sophie Christie won her first set 6-3 before dropping a 10-5 supertiebreaker at No. 5 singles.

UP NEXT: The women's team is back in action Thursday with a date against UIC while the men play Friday against Illinois Tech. Both matches will be played at XS Tennis with the Lakers as the visiting team.
