Marysheva Earns All-GLIAC Honors In Final Season

BAY CITY, Mich. – Roosevelt senior Viktoria Marysheva earned all-conference honors from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, the league announced Friday morning.

The Russian native was an honorable mention selection by the league after leading the Lakers in kills for the fourth consecutive season. She was the only player to appear in every set for Roosevelt this season, finishing with 228 kills and 256.5 points during her final year in the Green and White. She ranked fourth on the team with 23 total blocks and served up 16 aces as well.

It is the second consecutive season in which Marysheva earned all-conference honors after exiting the NAIA last season with second team All-CCAC honors with the Lakers. Marysheva becomes the first Lakers player in eight years to earn all-conference honors in consecutive seasons for Roosevelt.

"I couldn't be happier for Vika to cap off her playing career at Roosevelt with her second consecutive all-conference recognition," Roosevelt head coach Nicasio Paquiz Jr. said. "With the work that she placed on and off the court, I'm so proud of the growth she experienced, the contributions she's given to our program, and thrilled that our conference honored her for her time, effort, and impact she had in the GLIAC."
