SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – Roosevelt struggled to start the season Friday, dropping both of its matches in straight sets at the UIS Invite hosted by UIS in Springfield, Ill.
The Lakers (0-2) began the season with a 25-11, 25-10, 25-15 defeat at the hands of Central Missouri then followed with a 25-15, 25-13, 25-17 loss to Quincy.
Aleksandra Barac led the Lakers with 10 kills between the two matches while
Zoe Hutchinson had 16 combined assists.
Cydney Martinez led Roosevelt in digs for both games and finished with 11 total while six different people had at least a half of block.
UP NEXT: Roosevelt concludes its weekend in the state capital on Saturday with matches against Kentucky Wesleyan and host UIS. The Lakers did not face either school last season.
