DAKOTA STATE GAME RECAP

The Lakers used a seven-run second inning to take control of the day's first game.  Brynn Dvoracek led off with a double to center with Brielle Carre reaching on an error and Sabrina Treccani walking to load the bases.  A wild pitch scored Dvoracek and Hailey Denton then singled to score Carre with Denton advancing to second on an error on the play.  Kassie Kawka brought in Treccani with a sacrifice fly and Jessica Schneider drove in Denton with a base hit to center.  Schneider advanced to second on an error, stole third base, and scored on an Emily Zuniga single to center.  Athena Pomele-Pen closed out the scoring in the inning with a two-run homer over the left field fence.

Dakota State cut the deficit to 7-2 on a two-run homer in the bottom of the fourth inning, but the Lakers answered with a solo run in the fifth and three more runs in the sixth to end the game on run-rule.  In the fifth inning, Treccani reached on a single and scored a batter later when Denton also singled with the Trojans committing an error on the play.

Schneider started the sixth off with a base hit and advanced to second on another Dakota State error.  Schneider advanced to third on a ground out by Zuniga and scored on another ground out, this time by Pomele-Pen.  Dvoracek reached base on yet another Trojan error and Carre singled to move pinch runner, Emma Wokurka, into scoring position.  Treccani followed with a base hit to left field to bring in Wokurka to end the scoring.
