Box Score JOLIET, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's basketball team started off strongly against the University of St. Francis, but the Lakers could not keep pace after the first quarter, losing 86-55 in CCAC Conference action on Thursday, February 3 at the Sullivan Center. The loss dropped the Lakers conference record to 6-10 and their overall record to 7-13.
The two teams traded the lead early on in the first quarter and the Fighting Saints held an 11-10 advantage with 2:24 to go. However, the Lakers scored the final six points of the quarter to lead 16-11 behind two points each by Amelia McNutt, Shawna Conger, and Nicole Poole.
St. Francis blew open the game in the second quarter, scoring the first 16 points of the stanza and building a 40-24 half-time margin. The Fighting Saints continued to increase its lead the rest of the game to win the conference game 86-55.
