Box Score ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's soccer team dominated its CCAC Conference match versus St. Xavier University, but had to settle with a scoreless draw despite outshooting the visitors 19-0 at Morris Field on Tuesday, October 18. The Lakers are now 3-4-3 in conference play and 3-6-4 overall this season.
Playing in cold and blustery conditions, the Lakers constantly attacked the Cougars' goal and nearly took a 1-0 lead in the 14th minute, but Meaghan Smith's shot hit the cross bar and bounced out to keep the game scoreless at the half.
Roosevelt continued its pressure against the wind in the second half and once again it appeared the Lakers might finally find the back of the net with just under 10 minutes left to play when Mayte Gongora served in a free kick and Lola Arreola headed the ball just over the goal.
The Lakers back line of Mackenzie Alvarez, Abigail Arriaga, Destiny Ashcraft, and Leslie Jimenez held the Cougars to zero shots in the contest to earn Roxana Herrera her second shutout of the season.
