Kawka's Walk-Off Hit Helps Softball Complete CCAC Sweep Of St. Ambrose

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

ROSEMONT, Ill. –Forty-three days after their first encounter at The Parkway Bank Sports Complex this season, the Roosevelt University softball team welcomed St. Ambrose back to Rosemont for two pivotal Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference games on Saturday, April 24, and after splitting that first twinbill with the Bees, this time the Lakers left The Stadium with two big victories.

Early RU offense combined with Kate Sisson (SO/Martinsville, Ind.)'s continued excellence in the circle for a 5-2 decision in favor of the Lakers in the opener.

The Lakers needed to rally back from a 2-0 deficit in the nightcap, but that's exactly what they did as Kassie Kawka (JR/Palos Hills, Ill.) hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to send Roosevelt to a 3-2 victory and the doubleheader sweep.

Jessica Schneider (FR/Las Vegas, Nev.) had four hits in the leadoff spot to pace the Lakers in the two games.
