Softball Falls to 15th Ranked Olivet Nazarene in CCAC Conference Doubleheader

ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Roosevelt University softball team dropped a CCAC Conference doubleheader to 15th ranked Olivet Nazarene University, losing 6-2 and 8-0 in six innings at The Stadium at Parkway Bank Sports Complex on Thursday, April 22.

The Lakers fell behind 4-0 to the Tigers in the first inning of game one and then gave up solo runs in the fourth and fifth innings to fall behind 6-0. Roosevelt scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth when Mia Signore (FR/Tinley Park, Ill.) doubled home Anaisa Lozada (SO/Bensenville, Ill.) and Jessica Schneider (FR/Las Vegas, Nev.), who had both singled, for the 6-2 final score.

In game two, the Laker bats could not get anything going offensively against Tigers' pitcher Emi Blucker and were held hitless for the first five innings. Rebecca Bluder (JR/Downers Grove, Ill.) connected for a base hit up the middle in the bottom of the sixth for Roosevelt's only hit of the game. The Lakers also threatened to break the shutout in the inning, but stranded runners on second and third to end the game with an 8-0 loss to Olivet Nazarene.
