Box Score ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt University women's soccer team dropped its second straight CCAC Conference match, losing to Trinity International University by the score of 1-0 on Saturday, October 2 at Morris Field. The Lakers are now 2-3 in CCAC Conference action and 5-5 overall this season.
Despite not practicing the past week due to COVID safety restrictions, the Lakers controlled the action throughout for the second straight game, holding a 13-3 shot advantage in the first half, but were unable to find the back of the net.
The second half was more of the same and then Mother Nature stepped in for the first time in the 65th minute, halting the game for over an hour due to lightning.
When play resumed with just over 26 minutes left, the rain made for a slick surface and the Trojans took advantage of a RU miscue to take a 1-0 lead just over a minute back into action. The Lakers continued to pressure the Trojan goal, outshooting the visitors 9-3 in the second half. However, Mother Nature stepped in one final time, ending the game due to lightning with 3:16 left to play before RU could find the equalizer.
