Women's Soccer Fights Hard, Falls To Trinity International

CHICAGO - A pair of three-minute scoring spurts by Trinity International hindered the Roosevelt women's soccer team in a 4-0 loss at Stuart Field on Tuesday afternoon.

Playing a mere three days after a double-overtime affair against Governors State, the Lakers (1-2-2, 0-1-1 CCAC) couldn't muster much offense against TIU (3-4-0, 1-1-0 CCAC) with just four shots. However, Roosevelt's defending held off the Trojans' shot barrage and prevented the guests from scoring for much of the match thanks to hard work from the entire defense and eight saves from keeper Kelsey Heaton.

The Lakers were done in by two brief segments that TIU took advantage of in each half. In the 24th minute, Lauren Henn scored on a ball from Makena Walker, and Walker struck a goal of her own in the 26th minute.

Roosevelt held firm from there until the 81st minute, when Cameron Hunter scored and then, just two minutes later, assisted on Hannah Fuchs' goal.

The Lakers tangle with rival Robert Morris (Ill.) in Arlington Heights this Saturday.
