SOUTH BEND, Ind. - Aisley Njissang and Cam Wicker delivered two-run singles during a pair of three-run innings, propelling the Roosevelt softball team to an 8-7 nightcap win and a doubleheader split at Indiana South Bend on Monday.
The Lakers (7-20, 1-7 CCAC) rebounded from a 7-2 loss in the opener to the Titans (11-5, 3-1 CCAC) and snapped a nine-game skid to secure their first conference win of the spring.
Njissang had four hits on the day and three in game two, a contest in which she also drove in three runs.
Haley Huss had three hits and three runs scored in the finale, and Caitlyn Santiago had two of Roosevelt's five hits in the opener.
Camryn Williams and Riley Landenberger drove in runs in the first game.
Madison Lentz earned the win for RU with 6.1 innings of work before Brianna McCormick came on during the Titans' three-run seventh inning rally that was halted when McCormick struck out the last two batters.
