Box Score PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – A tough 15-minute stretch in which 23rd-ranked Trinity Christian scored four times during the final stages of the first half was the only blemish for the Roosevelt women's soccer team, as the Lakers displayed grit in battle against one of the CCAC leaders amidst dreary conditions on the Trolls' home field in a 4-0 loss on Saturday.
Kelsey Heaton kept the Lakers in the match with 13 saves, while Monica Munoz took a team-leading three shots.
Julie Garcia and Alaina Force also made attempts against frame.
The Trolls took 15 shots in the first half, putting tremendous pressure on Heaton and the Roosevelt defense.
Selah Hopkins scored the game's first goal in the 23rd minute, sandwiching two other goals with her 38th-minute strike during a first-half offensive flurry.
Roosevelt held firm the rest of the way, limiting Trinity Christian's shots by half of the first-period output in the final 45 minutes.
The Lakers will take on Saint Xavier at Deaton Field on Oct. 30.
