Box Score

EAST CHICAGO, Ind. - Monica Munoz sandwiched three other Laker goals with two of her own, propelling the Roosevelt women's soccer team to a dominant 5-0 road win over Calumet St. Joseph on Wednesday night.

Munoz opened the floodgates with an eighth-minute goal and closed the scoring on a tally in the 88th minute to lift the Lakers (2-7-2, 1-6-1 CCAC) to their first conference win of the fall.

Rookie Alaina Force added an early first-half strike aided by Munoz to bag her first collegiate goal, while Julie Garcia and Meghan McCue joined Munoz as second-half scorers.

Aisley Njissang, Alexis Kane and McCue also had assists on the night.

Kelsey Heaton played a majority of the match in goal as the Lakers' defensive effort did not allow the Crimson Wave (1-9-0, 0-6-0 CCAC) to get a shot off for the team clean sheet.

Roosevelt hosts St. Ambrose next Wednesday for a morning match at 11:30 a.m. at Stuart Field.

UPDATE: Roosevelt University self-reported its discovery that a student-athlete who competed in this contest was ineligible by NAIA rules. Roosevelt has forfeited the victory and the record goes down as a 1-0 CCSJ victory. All stats, except those of the ineligible player, count.
