Jones Stops 14 Shots, Women's Soccer Shut Out At Cleary (Mich.)

HOWELL, Mich. – Kara Jones continued to keep the Roosevelt women's soccer team in tough early-season road contests with her second-straight double-digit save showing, as the Lakers could not muster any offense in a 2-0 loss to host Cleary (Mich.) on a soggy Saturday.

In a match that weathered a weather delay, the Lakers (0-3-0) fell behind early on a goal in the third minute.

Cleary (2-1-0) added another in the 33rd minute, and that's all that would be needed with Roosevelt struggling to unleash shots and only sending in two attempts.

Less than 24 hours after making 12 saves against Lawrence Tech, Jones faced 16 shots on target and stopped 14 in another valiant effort between the posts.

Roosevelt hosts Bethel (Ind.) at Kroc Stadium on Chicago's southeast side on Saturday.
