ROSEMONT, Ill. – Playing its fifth and sixth games in less than 72 hours, the Roosevelt softball team dropped a pair of non-conference contests against visiting Cincinnati Christian inside The Dome at Rosemont on Sunday morning.
The Lakers (8-25) dropped the opener by a final of 10-2 before falling 11-1 in the finale to the Eagles (12-11).
Aisley Njissang drove in a run in each game, and Katrina Yager, Haley Huss and Caitlyn Santiago posted two-hit games during the day.
After braving the cold outdoors in four games during the previous two days, the Lakers were unable to prevent crooked innings by the guests.
Roosevelt scored two in the bottom of the first of the opener, with Santiago and Njissang driving in runs to give the Lakers a 2-1 advantage.
Cincinnati Christian scored four in the third to reclaim the lead and padded the advantage with five late runs.
The Eagles jumped ahead with a four-run first in the second contest, and they added three-run frames in the second and third to build a big early lead that could not be overcome by the Green and White on this day.
