ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Roosevelt softball team dropped a pair of chilly conference contests to Cardinal Stritch at The Ballpark at Rosemont on Friday.
The Lakers (7-22, 2-5 CCAC) fell 5-2 in the opener before a 16-6 loss in the finale to the Wolves (13-1-3, 4-3 CCAC) on a cold and windy day.
Roosevelt outhit Stritch 7-5 in the opener, but three errors by the Green and White did the Lakers no favors.
Caitlyn Santiago drove in Roosevelt's only runs with a two-run two-bagger in the seventh.
Stritch scored five times in the top of the first of game two, but Roosevelt roared back and put up a three-spot in the bottom half of the inning to get closer. Haley Huss hit an RBI triple and Amber Green hit a two-run single.
After Stritch scored a run in the second, the Lakers scored in the bottom of the third on RBI plays off the bats of Aisley Njissang and Green to make it a 6-5 affair.
It wouldn't stay that way after Stritch's top of the fourth, when the Wolves plated nine runs on just three hits.
Roosevelt is scheduled to play at Trinity Christian on Saturday.
