WHITING, Ind. - Haley Huss had three hits, including a triple, and an RBI, and Aisley Njissang drove in a pair of runs, but bthe Roosevelt softball team could not muster much more offense against host Calumet St. Joseph on Sunday.
Roosevelt (10-34, 5-15 CCAC) lost 5-2 in the opener before dropping a 7-1 result to the Crimson Wave (15-22, 8-10 CCAC).
The Lakers led the opener 2-1 after Huss and Njissang drove in runs during the fourth inning.
Roosevelt took that lead into the sixth, when CCSJ scored four times to reclaim the lead. The Lakers couldn't muster anything in the seventh.
Calumet St. Joseph led from the start of game two, and Roosevelt;s offense couldn't bring in anything besides Njissang's sixth-inning run-scoring single.
The Lakers were plagued by four errors in the finale.
Roosevelt takes a brief step out of CCAC play to host Concordia (Mich.) at The Ballpark at Rosemont on Tuesday.
