BOURBONNAIS, Ill. – The Roosevelt softball team had a tough day at the office against CCAC leader Olivet Nazarene, as the Lakers fell 8-0 and 14-0 in a doubleheader on Thursday.
The Lakers moved to 10-29 overall and 5-10 in conference play.
Haley Huss, Cam Wicker and Mackenzie LeDuc had hits against reigning CCAC Player of the Year Emily Carstens, but the game one starter kept the Lakers off the scoreboard to allow the Tigers (25-9, 12-1 CCAC) to take the opener.
Game two saw a similar offensive result for the Green and White against Jamie Kiefer, who no-hit the Lakers in a five-inning affair.
Roosevelt will look to bounce back at home this Saturday, April 21 against Trinity International at The Ballpark at Rosemont. First pitch for the twinbill opener is at 5 p.m., and the Lakers will host a bevy of events as part of the #WeRUnited to Pack the Park initiative.
A youth clinic will be hosted inside the stadium at 2:30 p.m. Spaces are still available for the free clinic by registering at rulakerssoftball.com.
