DAVENPORT, Iowa – The Roosevelt softball team suffered a pair of CCAC losses at the hands of a St. Ambrose team receiving Top 25 votes as the Bees took 10-1 and 4-1 decisions on their home field at the St. Vincent Complex on Friday.
The Lakers (10-27, 5-8 CCAC) mustered just two hits in each game. Kelli Jones and Cam Wicker had a hit in the opener, and Haley Huss accounted for both RU knocks in the finale.
Madison Lentz took a tough-luck loss after a quality start of six innings and three earned runs allowed.
The Bees (20-8, 6-2 CCAC) proved to be a difficult host with enough offense to support stingy pitching in both games.
Roosevelt will look to bounce back on the road against CCSJ on Tuesday.
