Women's Basketball Falls To No. 4 Saint Xavier

CHICAGO – The Roosevelt women's basketball fell to fourth-ranked Saint Xavier, 97-68, inside the Goodman Center on Wednesday.

Paige Gallimore led the Lakers (14-13, 7-10 CCAC) with 19 points to go with seven rebounds and seven assists.

Jasmine Albert added 11 points, Becca Bergman tallied 10 and Chelsey Crippen just missed her fourth consecutive double-double with nine points and nine rebounds.

Kara Krolicki led four in double figures with a game-high 27 points for the Cougars (23-2, 17-0 CCAC).

Saint Xavier led from start to finish and the Lakers couldn't rally back.

Roosevelt turned the ball over 26 times, leading to 37 SXU points.

"Defensively, we allowed them to get whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted," Roosevelt head coach Keisha Newell said. "Offensively, we just turned the ball over too much and good teams like Saint Xavier take advantage of it. With three games left, our focus is to get back on track in practice these next few days and on Saturday at home.

"We are not giving up."

Crippen has four double-doubles in the last six games.

The Lakers host Governors State at the Goodman Center this Saturday at 1pm.
