WILBERFORCE, Ohio – Freshman guard Tanea White scored a career-high 23 points in 23 minutes off the bench, leading four Lakers in double-figure scoring to pace the Roosevelt women's basketball team past host Wilberforce (Ohio), 89-75, on Tuesday.
White, whose previous career-high point output was eight, went 5-for-9 from the field, 3-for-5 from three-point range and a perfect 10-for-10 from the foul line for the most points scored by a Laker thus far this season while leading all scorers in Tuesday's contest.
Jasmine Albert added 18 points, Becca Bergman tallied 13 while handing out nine assists and Lindzy Cox scored 12 for the Lakers (4-7).
Ashley Smoldt added six points and a team-high eight rebounds.
Nia McCormick scored 20 for the Bulldogs (4-6).
Roosevelt opened the game with a 67 percent (8-for-12) first-quarter shooting showing and wrapped the day with a 78 percent (7-for-9) fourth en route to a 55 percent day from the field.
The Lakers created 20 turnovers and turned them into 23 points.
"We played our best game of the year offensively by shooting the ball well from the field, three, and free throw line," Roosevelt head coach Keisha Newell said. "We were aggressive and it showed by getting to the line 30 times.
"We still have some things we need to clean up, but it was great to get a road win."
Roosevelt has a quick turnaround, taking on Wright State Lake on Wednesday.
