Women's Basketball Wins Big Over Silver Lake (Wis.), 82-42

Box Score

CHICAGO - A balanced attack from start to finish led the Roosevelt women's basketball team to an 82-42 win over visiting Silver Lake (Wis.) to win the battle of the Lakers inside the Goodman Center on Wednesday.

Lindzy Cox had a great all-around game with a game-high 16 points, seven rebounds, five assists and four steals.

Thirteen different Lakers from RU scored as Roosevelt (1-3) accumulated 22 steals and created 34 turnovers by the other set of Lakers (1-4).

Jasmine Albert had 12 points, six boards and a game-high seven steals, while Becca Bergman added five assists and six steals.

Roosevelt was without head coach Keisha Newell, who gave birth to daughter Addisyn on Saturday just 12 hours after coaching the Lakers on Friday night.

With preparation from Newell before Wednesday's game and practice and in-game guidance from assistant coaches Veronica Peterson and Tiana Karopulos, the Lakers were able to set the tone early and dominate nearly every statistical category en route to their first win of the season.

Roosevelt has a week to prepare for ninth-ranked St. Francis (Ill.) in a road game at the Sullivan Center in Joliet next Wednesday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m.
