Women's Soccer Shut Out At Saint Xavier

CHICAGO – The Roosevelt women's soccer team lost a 4-0 decision at the hands of host Saint Xavier at a chilly Deaton Field on Wednesday evening.

Kara Jones made nine saves for the Lakers (2-11-1, 2-7-0 CCAC).

Saint Xavier (5-8-2, 4-4-1 CCAC) scored eight minutes in on Shelby Bishop's goal, and the score remained 1-0 until Bishop scored 22 seconds into the second half.

Jones had stopped a penalty kick in 64th minute, but was ruled to have left the line early and the Cougars' Andreina Hernandez converted her second chance.

SXU capped the scoring on Kimberly Marquez's goal less than a minute after the PK.

The Lakers hit the road again to face Cardinal Stritch at the Bavarian Soccer Club on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. to close out the regular season.
