Albert's Career Night Not Enough As IUSB Uses Long-Range Shooting To Down Women's Basketball

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – Jasmine Albert scored a game- and career-high 26 points to go along with 10 rebounds for a double-double, but the Roosevelt women's basketball team could not keep up with host Indiana South Bend's hot shooting early as the Lakers fell to the Titans, 79-64, on Wednesday.

Albert went 8-for-13 from the floor, including 2-for-3 from downtown, and made all but one of her nine free throws for the Lakers (14-9, 7-6 CCAC).

Kyleigh Kubik led four Titans in double figures with 23 points, connecting on seven three-point field goals, for IUSB (13-10, 4-9 CCAC).

The Titans sank five of eight trey attempts in the first quarter, shooting 10-for-13 overall during the first 10 minutes, and made five more three-pointers in the second to finish the half 10-for-19 from downtown. Indiana South Bend nearly made as many three-point shots as Roosevelt attempted during that span.

Thanks to the hosts' hot long-range shooting, Roosevelt fell behind by as many as 26 points before clawing back in the fourth by outscoring IUSB 22-13. Unfortunately it was too late for the Lakers as they suffered their third straight defeat.

The Lakers will look to rebound against 17th-ranked St. Francis (Ill.) this Saturday in Joliet.
