Softball Falls Twice At Robert Morris Illinois

BENSENVILLE, Ill. – The Roosevelt softball team had a tough day on the diamond against rival Robert Morris Illinois on Sunday, falling 10-1 and 14-4 in two conference games on the road.

Lauryn Lewis drove in Roosevelt's only run, the game's first, on a third-inning sacrifice fly in the opener, but Robert Morris tied it in the bottom half of that same inning and then broke the game open with a nine-run fourth aided by eight hits and three Laker errors.

A nine-run first inning doomed the Green and White in game two, but the Lakers continued to battle and scored four times amidst the third and fourth innings as Cam Wicker, Brooke Lee and Rachel Kubisz drove in runs.

Katrina Yager, Caitlyn Santiago and Taylor Sterkowitz had two-hit games during the day.

Roosevelt fell to 8-18 overall, while RMU is now 6-17.

The Lakers return to The Ballpark at Rosemont this Tuesday to host Calumet St. Joseph beginning at 5 p.m.
