Trager's Big Day Not Enough As Baseball Falls At Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – Despite scoring 11 runs against an Oklahoma City University squad receiving Top 25 votes, the Roosevelt baseball team couldn't overcome three straight seven-run innings by the hosts to open the game in a 22-11 loss on Monday night that opened a seven-game spring break road trip.

Colten Trager was a one-man wrecking crew for Roosevelt (3-4), as he went 4-for-4 with six runs driven in, but the Lakers had a rough day on the mound as the Stars (21-4) churned out 18 hits on their home field.

Trager homered twice, hitting a two-run shot in the fourth and blasting a three-run long ball in the sixth, and with a single and a triple to his credit, fell a double short of the cycle.

Tyler Ward had a pair of hits, while Andrew Bohlmann drove in a pair of runs.

Roosevelt faces Oklahoma Wesleyan, another side receiving Top 25 consideration, in a twinbill on Tuesday.
