Roosevelt Drop Non-Conference Matchup At Lewis

ROMEOVILLE, Ill. – Roosevelt could not capitalize on three Lewis errors in a 7-0 non-conference loss to the Flyers on Tuesday in Romeoville.

The Lakers (7-16) had chances throughout the game to score, but the two-out hit was not to be found. Roosevelt had two runners on in the second and third innings with two outs only for the rally to be extinguished.

Maxwell Bowers was the first Roosevelt baserunner to reach third base when he led off the sixth inning with a single. He moved to second on an error from the pitcher then stole third base, but was thrown out trying to score on a slow grounder back to the third baseman.

Roosevelt again advanced a runner 90 feet away from scoring in the ninth when Jack Hoh went first to third on a Kyle Jannenga single. However, the Lakers recorded the final out before Hoh was able to score.

The Lakers amassed seven hits in the game led by two each from Hoh and Jannenga at the bottom of the lineup. Ian Bagaconza and Alejandro Munoz both added singles as well for Roosevelt in the loss.

UP NEXT: The Lakers face McKendree in a four-game non-conference series in Lebanon, Ill. starting Friday at 2 p.m.
