PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt women's soccer team ended a historic 2017 campaign by making its first-ever appearance in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference Women's Soccer Tournament on Friday, with the seventh-seeded Lakers tangling with second-seeded Trinity Christian in the quarterfinals.
Anna Agboola and Chelsea Olson connected for Roosevelt's sole score in their final collegiate contest, but the Trolls proved too much for the Lakers on this day in a 6-1 result in favor of the hosts from Palos Heights.
Roosevelt concludes the year with a 7-10 overall record.
The Trolls (17-2) went ahead near the end of the first half on two goals by Jessica Bianchi. Trinity Christian tacked on two more, including another by Bianchi for the hat trick, before Olson found Agboola for a 76th-minute goal.
TCC added on last late goal to cap the scoring for the afternoon.
Kara Jones made 16 saves as the Trolls unleashed 22 shots against frame.
Friday marked the final contest for seniors Olson, Agboola, Brenna Stremlau, Julia Schultz, Samantha Duarte and Maria Narcisi.
