PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The Roosevelt women's soccer team had a tough day at the office against a Trinity Christian side receiving Top 25 votes, as the Lakers were blanked by the Trolls in a 5-0 loss at Schaaf Field on Saturday.
Playing without the injured Monica Munoz, the team's leading scorer, the Lakers (3-8-0, 1-5-0 CCAC) mustered just five shots to the 28 unleashed by the Trolls (11-2-0, 4-2-0 CCAC).
TCC scored in the third minute and tacked on three more goals by Jessica Bianchi later in the first half. A 56th minute strike capped the offense for the day.
Kara Jones made 16 saves on the day to mitigate the damage.
Roosevelt gets a week off before tangling with host Holy Cross (Ind.) next Saturday.
