Women's Soccer Celebrates Seniors, Caps Regular Season Versus Stritch

BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. – The Roosevelt women's soccer team celebrated its 2017 senior class prior to its match against Cardinal Stritch in the regular season finale at Toyota Park on Saturday.

Head coach Roland Hahn and Roosevelt recognized the achievements of Chelsea Olson, Anna Agboola, Brenna Stremlau, Julia Schultz, Maria Narcisi, Erika Edmonds and Samantha Duarte in a pregame ceremony that just beat a brief flurry of sleet on a chilly morning. That group of Lakers helped the program attain its first CCAC Tournament berth this week.

As for Saturday's match, Stritch (10-6-1, 8-3-0 CCAC) jumped ahead with two goals within the first six minutes before Agboola connected on her team-leading 10th goal of the fall in the 21st minute on a ball from Monica Munoz to pull Roosevelt (7-9-0, 5-6-0 CCAC) within a goal.

Agboola now has a single-season career-best mark for goals while moving into second behind Jamie Beniac (16) for most goals in a season by a Laker.

Unfortunately the Wolves scored six minutes later and tacked on four more tallies to finish with the 7-1 result in their favor.

Roosevelt will move onward to its inaugural CCAC Tournament match with a road contest to be announced this week.
