Women's Soccer Defeats Judson, Wins Third In A Row

ELGIN, Ill. – Monica Munoz had a role in all three goals for the Lakers, and the Roosevelt women's soccer team won its third consecutive conference contest by going on the road and defeating Judson by a final of 3-2 on Saturday.

Munoz scored a goal and assisted on tallies converted by Anna Agboola and Meghan McCue to propel the Lakers (6-8-0, 4-5-0 CCAC) one step closer to the program's first-ever CCAC tourney berth.

Agboola started the scoring in the 15th minute, taking a ball from Munoz and knocking it past keeper Morgan Olsen for the early Laker lead and Agboola's seventh strike of the season.

It was Moni Time little more than 90 seconds prior to intermission. Munoz scored an unassisted marker in the 44th minute, upping her season total to a career-high nine goals. The junior has been an offensive juggernaut since returning from injury, scoring a goal in each of the last three matches since she came back to the pitch.

Judson (3-12-0, 3-6-0 CCAC) cut its deficit in half three minutes after the second-period kickoff on Yulissa Solis' penalty kick goal.

However, after nearly 30 minutes of a standstill, McCue corralled a ball from Munoz in the 79th minute and sent it home into the net for her first collegiate goal and a big two-goal lead for the Lakers.

The Eagles scored the game's final goal with just 28 ticks left in regulation, and Roosevelt held on for the decision.

Roosevelt has outscored its last three opponents 10-4.

The Lakers return to Toyota Park on Tuesday to take on Saint Xavier at 3 p.m.
